If you are looking for a Christian college where you or your young adult can grow in their faith as well as get a great education, DO NOT send them here. I can not believe the amount of young adults that have abandoned their faith or have been sucked into the progressive liberal agenda. You will end up paying a huge amount of money where they or you would be just as well off at a secular university.
From our first contact with the College, we have been very favourably impressed with Houghton alumni & alumnae, current students, faculty, & administration. Houghton doesn't pretend to be an exciting place in a major urban centre. Sure, it can be isolated or "boring." Our kids have told us of quite a few things the College has brought to campus, though. More importantly, however, it does offer students a wide variety of opportunities in many majors, overseas experience, and the kind of personal attention many young people really need at this time in their lives when they have so many decisions before them. For parents, it's also nice to know their children are in a safer part of the US. They have also provided generous financial aid which helps a lot too. We hope many more people will appreciate what Houghton has to offer!
Houghton is such a great college! I'm thinking about going there in the fall. Not only is the campus beautiful but the professors and admission counselors are very helpful and care about you. At this college you will not only be able to further in your career, but with your walk with Christ. I would recommend anyone to go to Houghton or at least, take a tour and visit.

My time at Houghton provided me with not only a lifetime of memories but a solid education. Houghton had faculty who were amazing mentors. In fact I still communicate frequently with one of them almost 15 yeas after graduating. This may be a small school but they value education and care deeply about each and every student. I felt fully prepared for graduate school and learned necessary skills so succeed in your PhD at Harvard and now faculty position at Brown. I attribute a large amount of my successes to Houghton and one notable faculty member Jake Jacobson.
